NEW AT OUTSIDERS BY ROEBLING!

We are trying to find the stuff that needs a little help being unearthed and put into people’s hands. Whether thats a classic that we love and want more people to read, a novel from a smaller (and lesser known) publishing press, or works in translation that haven’t broken into the mainstream just yet. We always look and stock the experimental, the queer, the strange, the surreal, many of which come from translated works originally from Latin America or the Eastern Bloc of Europe. If you’re looking for gay stories, weird literature, surreal novel-long experiments, and smaller voices in the publishing world, Outsiders is the place for you.

 The book club “Out of Bounds and Beyond Borders” aims to help get people more familar with these fantastic works from other languages. From the surrealist novelas of Juan Rulfo to the dark satires of Kafka, we aim to promote works in translation and what can be GAINED from translation rather than lost. We want people to fall in love with the weird literature on the margin and help those people learn the stories of how these novels came to be.
